Bharat Met Cricket
A love story that became a revolution
Bharat met Cricket in the midst of colonisation – not the most friendly or romantic of beginnings. Yet, as unlikely as it seemed, it was an instant connection.
Championed by the Parsi community in Bombay, Cricket walked alongside Bharat – even as the world came to know it by another name: India. A nation finding its voice, identity, and rhythm on the world stage.
Through the late 1900s, as India grew in stature on the cricket field, so did the fervour of its people. The 1983 World Cup victory turned cricketers into superstars, and cricket into something far more than just a sport – it became a shared national emotion. From the superstars of the '80s to the royalty of the 2020s, Indian cricket hasn’t just produced icons – it has become the very heartbeat of world cricket.
